Set in the foothills in the village of Camigliano, 8 kilometers east of Lucca, this large country home surrounded by 2500 acres of vineyards, olive groves, pomegranate and citrus trees, and views of the mountains of Pisa in the distance. Oleanders, hibiscus and petunias bloom in the completely enclosed and illuminated garden. The surrounding vineyard, called Bordocheo, produces fine-quality wine and olive oil. Located in the area of the famous Villa Torrigiani and Villa Bruguier, this was part of the antique country property of the Lord Guinigi, ruler of Lucca in the 15th century.

The Villa La Volpe is two spacious attached country homes called Casa Michele and La Casa Ada. They can be rented together to open seamlessly into into one grand villa with 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Casa Michele and Casa Ada have tastefully furnished living rooms, a beautifully appointed "cook's" kitchen, media room with TV, DVD player and stereo systems, internet access, a satellite TV in each bedroom, and air conditioning.

Each home, Casa Ada and Casa Michele, has 4 perfectly decorated double bedrooms, with comfortable beds, lovely bed coverlets and window treatment. Each bedroom has a private full bathroom.

The grounds of the villa has several sunny and shaded terraces for dining or relaxing outdoors. The grand swimming pool is a few stone steps down from the terraces.

Villa La Volpe is located in a lovely scenic location, with easy access to a village grocery store, even on foot. It centrally located for convenient day trips to Lucca (15 minutes), Pisa and the ocean-side beaches of Viareggio (40 minutes), and Montecatini, the famous spa town (20 minutes). We are about 45 minutes by car from Florence, or you can drive your car to a nearby train station and from there, it is a pleasant hour by train to the Florence station in the center of town, thereby avoiding traffic jams and parking problems. We are about an hour and 15 minutes from Siena. There are several small lovely restaurants among the vineyards nearby for a relaxing dinner after a day's travels.
